CFT Open Results 2017

JARKKO REINOLA of Finland is the overall winner of the CFT Open 2017. Congratulations!

We had 3 judges from 3 different continents. Each of these judges gave a maximum 10 points for 10 details on both entries. The results were calculated by adding all score points together. The closest score to the maximum 600 points is the overall winner.

Congratulations to everybody that participated. The entries were all wonderful, and judging has been a tough process. It was interesting to see that some did a fantastic Butcher, but struggled with the Switcher, while some with an excellent Switcher had difficulties with the Butcher.

Mostly all of you have entered this competition to receive feedback that will give you an idea of how to improve your tying. For some of you it becomes eminent that versatility is a challenge, as you have been focussed mostly on a single style. Other have shown to be excellent all-round tiers.

Everybody will receive a personalised email with the details of their score, and the judges’ pointers and feedback.

We will be in touch with the price winners – the first three of every category – about the prices they have won and how to collect them. A big thanks again to our sponsors Semperfli, Lagartun, FeathersMC and John Saxton aka. the Victorian Hook Company for their support.

Score Charts and Feedback

The score charts are published below. There are individual score tables with comments and feedback.  There are quite a lot of comments and pointers from the judges for each individual entry. All this information will be kept personal, and will be sent to each contender during this week.

We hope you all enjoyed this as much as we have. We’re looking forward to another round next year.

Thanks very much indeed!

Robert Verkerk (N), Dave Carne (UK), Anthony Smith (USA), & Peter de Coensel (B)

Scores per category

These tables show the results of the judging of each individual fly. Point given by 3 independent judges are added together, giving a maximum 300 points per fly. The scores for the two entries are then added together to give a maximum total of 600 points.
